Former Home Brewing Building Up For Sale

The former Home Brewery building on Sir John Robinson Way in Arnold, which is currently used by Nottinghamshire County Council as offices, is up for sale.

The Council announced plans to sell the building in December 2010 as part of a broader programme to save £2 million in running costs by making better use of a smaller number of buildings.

The building is not open to the public and houses a number of services, including Children, Families and Cultural Services, Adult Social Care and Health, and Environment and Resources.

The Grade 11 listed building, which dates from the 1930s, is being sold on the open market by Innes England and the Council will vacate the building once a sale has been agreed.

Councillor Reg Adair, the County Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance and Property, said: "We want to get the very best price for this building to safeguard council taxpayers’ money to reinvest in services.

"The building is in an attractive location as it lies just outside the proposed workplace levy zone so we are looking forward to receiving competitive offers.

"The building is listed to preserve its interior and exterior features so any future changes will need to gain planning consent."
