Holy Family RC and CE College in Heywood is to receive £10 million to upgrade its existing school buildings and grounds.
Contracts for the scheme were signed last week with construction due to start in the New Year.
As part of the investment, Holy Family will receive a combination of new facilities, including a brand new sports hall and changing rooms together with a dedicated food technology block.
The existing 3-storey building will be demolished and replaced with a new teaching block, whilst the remainder of the school buildings will be completely transformed through a combination of remodelling and refurbishment works to create improved teaching, dining and social facilities for the pupils and staff.
A new pedestrian route will be created from the perimeter to the main visitor and pupil entrances and there will be a new cycle route leading directly to a secure cycle area. The college will also receive improved ICT services, enabling pupils and staff to access learning with ease using the latest technology.
