HSS Hire, the UK's award-winning tool and equipment hire company, has achieved Van Excellence accreditation for the safety and standards of its commercial fleet. It is the first tool hire company to achieve the accreditation.

The Van Excellence accreditation, managed by the Freight Transport Association, is an industry driven programme that promotes best practice standards and is designed to raise operational and safety standards and recognise excellence across van operators.

The scheme recognises an organisation's commitment to safer, more efficient and more sustainable van operations and looks at vehicle standards, road-worthiness, maintenance and safety as well as driver competence and training.

The awarding body commented: "HSS Hire has successfully demonstrated the high operational standards required to achieve accreditation to Van Excellence."
