Work on the £40 million project to transform the E-ACT sponsored Crest Boys' Academy and Crest Girls' Academy in Neasden has started.

The rebuild is part of a drive to continue improving educational standards at the Crest Academies and make them Academies that the school community and local people can all be proud of.

As well as providing first class educational facilities, the new buildings are an investment in the community providing a wide range of opportunities for people living nearby.

Apprenticeships will be offered to local people and there will also be an emphasis on the use of local labour and locally-sourced materials.

Billy O'Keefe, Principal at Crest Boys' Academy, said: "It is tremendous news that we are starting the new build process which will lead to magnificent and inspirational buildings that our students deserve."

Ian Vickers, Director for Wates Home Counties, said: "We are delighted to be starting on site imminently, and forming a very strong partnership with both Academies.
