The Chairman of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has resigned after five years in the role.
Trevor Walker announced his decision at the CSCS Annual General Meeting yesterday, 6 December.
The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) said that Mr Walker has playing a "hugely important" in moving the industry towards a fully qualified workforce.
CECA Managing Director, Mark Roper, said: "With more than 1.7 million of the industry's workers holding CSCS card, the scheme is an exemplar of what can be achieved when the whole industry works together to achieve a mutual objective.
"Trevor Walker has played a central role in this success as Chairman of CSCS. I want to personally thank him for his contribution to this achievement."
