Lovell has won two gongs at the prestigious What House? Awards 2011.
Hugh Dennis presents the Compendium team with their Bronze Award
Viewed as 'The Oscars' of the construction industry, The What House? Awards are the longest running awards in the sector in the UK.
Lovell was awarded a bronze in the Best Starter Home category as well as in the Best Partnership Scheme category for a Compendium Living development (a JV between Lovell and Riverside Housing Association).
The Best Starter Home award was in recognition of Lovell's work at the Sevenoaks development in Birkenhead, Merseyside. The judges commended the range of incentives schemes on offer, commenting: "With such a choice of financial packages at Sevenoaks, all first-time buyers should be able to get on the ladder."
Lovell's work with Riverside Housing Association as Compendium Living was rewarded with a bronze on the Best Partnership Scheme category for Weston Heights - Compendium was appointed by Stoke City Council and Renew North Staffordshire to regenerate the former Coalville miners' estate in the east of Stoke-on-Trent in 2006 and faced skepticism within the community. The judges said that the partnership’s success was due to “a policy that involves regular meetings with residents and a reliable point of contact on site, [which has ensured that] the community has been won over.”
Nigel Yates, regional director of Lovell in the North West said of the Best Starter Home award: "We are delighted with this award. Lovell has a commitment to offering quality and value to all homebuyers. When it is difficult to get your foot on the ladder, Lovell aims to offer a solution. This award is important because it recognises our commitment to these aims."
