Ferrari are keen to help our customers find economic cost effective solutions for their air movement requirements.
We can help in many ways, by optimising fan selection, choosing the correct motors, advising and supplying products which allow for variable capacity and pressure.
Fan Selection Optimisation
The initial product cost is of course an important factor in the purchasing decision of our clients; however in low cost solutions efficiency is often compromised. With our fan selection software we can compare the annual running cost of any number of fans at a glance and aid the decision making process for our customers. We have the facility to key in variables including energy cost per kWh, running hours per days and days per year and therefore provide real time accurate data.
Motor choice
Our entire range of fans can be fitted with high efficiency IE2 motors, according to European Commission Energy Product Directive 2005/32/EC. Depending on motor output, these allow an efficiency rating in the region of 83% to 95% and significant reductions in running costs when compared to the use of IE1 motors. By way of example, the purchase of a 30 kW IE2 motor allows running cost savings of up to £800/year against an IE1 motor, whilst the cost saving for a 90 kW motor could be as high as £ 3000/year. Contact us for a quotation request for a direct motor driven fan; a premium efficiency fan combined with an IE2 (EFF1) motor offers the very best in plant system optimisation.
Variable capacity and pressure products
With many of our customers looking at variable air volume solutions, inlet governors and outlet dampers may be used to operate those parts of the system requiring different operating points. While guaranteeing good standards of efficiency and performance, such systems however, cause losses of part of the available energy sources.
The frequency converter (inverter drive) represents an attractive alternative solution. It allows users to adjust fan speed, and cater to different operating points throughout the system whilst managing the system loss curve. The advantage lies in its ability to supply the exact energy requirements to the system; thereby lowering costs and reducing noise pollution. Cost reduction in such cases is clearly dependent on the operating conditions and standards of the system.
