BAM Construction has confirmed that the Bridgwater schools project is running to schedule as it hands-over Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre.

The Centre is the first completed part of the £50 million education build across Bridgwater.

Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre is part of the Chilton Trinity Technology College being project managed by local man, Andy Syddall, who said: "Handing over the leisure centre is a visible sign of progress on the bigger schools project that BAM is undertaking. We’ve made temporary access arrangements to bring the centre into use, and we recently won the contract to build the swimming pool that I know means so much to people who live here.

"The schools are important to Bridgwater’s infrastructure and regeneration of course, but they are more than that too, because they enhance our quality of life for the local community."

The £25 million College is 56 weeks through its programme and the next phase of the Bridgwater schools to complete will be the handover of Chilton Trinity Technology College and Robert Blake and Elmwood School in October 2012.

BAM's Western construction team are also at work on projects across the south west and the south of Wales, such as the Hadyn Elis Building for Cardiff University, and Britain's first zero carbon primary school in Exeter.
