Lovell has recently provided support to the BBC's DIY SOS project, the 'The Big Build'. This is set to be the programme’s biggest project to date for Children in Need.
The one-off charity special will see the DIY SOS team transform the rundown Norris Green Youth Centre in north Liverpool, and the programme is due to be aired on Thursday 10th November at 9.00pm.
Lovell, along with sub-contractors MMB Joinery, Theakstons, Admiral Carpets, and 11 additional partners, was enlisted by Liverpool Mutual Homes to play a vital part in the regeneration of the youth centre.
George Shaw, project manager in the North West, played a key role in the mission and will be attending the Children in Need appeal night on November 18th in London as an ambassador for Lovell. George grew up in Norris Green and this project in particular is one close to his heart.
George said: "Having lived in the area for a large part of my life it has been a privilege to be involved in this project. "Norris Green Youth Club carries out fantastic work in the community and the regeneration of the centre will have a positive impact on so many people."
The centre, which is in one of the most deprived areas in Liverpool, is highly regarded by the local community and has been credited with transforming the lives of many young people over the years.
Nigel Yates, regional director at Lovell, said: "We are thrilled to be involved in this project, especially as it will make such a difference to the local community, and we were more than happy to help out when approached by LMH.
"We have built a great relationship with LMH and have worked with them on a number of key community projects in the past; however this one is set to be the best yet!"
