Trade and social housing fenestration specialist Total Glass won the prestigious Supplier of the Year Award in the 8th annual Builder & Engineer Awards 2011 in recognition of its commitment to excellence and providing added value throughout all its operations.
The Liverpool-based PVC-U and aluminium window and door fabricator impressed the judges by demonstrating consistently high levels of customer service, product performance and quality across all its market sectors.
Total Glass Managing Director Julian Wetherall, who accepted the trophy at an awards ceremony in Manchester on October 5, said: "It's an honour to have our achievements acknowledged in this way and also very uplifting in what has been a tough year for us after sadly losing our late MD Paul Ierston to cancer in March.
"Receiving this award really does reflect very well on our superb workforce at Total Glass which has pulled together and continued to deliver great products and a great service to our customers.
"Our 40% increase in sales this year is testament to their hard work and dedication; a fantastic achievement after 25 years trading in what is still a tough market. But we won’t be resting on our laurels as to win future awards, we need to make sure that we keep getting better and better in everything we do," he added.
It's a second triumph for Total Glass in the Builder & Engineer Awards; last year its highly-acclaimed Aluminium Security Communal Entrance Door, designed specifically for the social housing sector, was named Product/Innovation of the Year at the 2010 event.
The heavy-gauge aluminium doors were introduced in response to market need for a more aesthetically-pleasing and robust security door in multiple occupancy residential properties. The doors, which feature optional customised glazing, are now being widely installed in social housing schemes throughout the UK.
