Hall-Fast's Managing Director, Malcolm Hall, has been named Nottinghamshire Entrepreneur of the Year in the prestigious Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2011.

Malcolm was handed the East Midlands Business Ltd sponsored title during a ceremony at Colwick Hall. An audience, featuring the county's leading lights in business, watched video profiles of all the finalists, before the judges announced the winners.

The judges said that Malcolm was chosen as the winner against tough opposition because of his remarkable story and how he has created a business from a £5,000 start up into one of the Midlands' fastest growing companies, with projected growth of 120% this year and with sales into 70 different export markets around the world.

Other finalists were Dr Kevin Hard of EvoEnergy Ltd and Sarah Ward of Spa Publishing Ltd.

"I am very proud to have won this award", commented Malcolm, "the high calibre of the other two finalists makes winning this award an even greater achievement, I found their own stories very inspiring!"
