Mouchel's Board has appointed Grant Rumbles as the company's new chief executive, succeeding Richard Cuthbert who left the company on 6 October after eight years in the role.
Mr Rumbles will join the Board as Chief Executive today, 13 October. He was formerly CEO of Exova, an international Testing, Advisory and Assurance services' business from 2008 to 2011. Previously, he was with Serco plc for 25 years where he held a range of senior management positions, culminating in his last four years as the Group Chief Operating Officer. He was also a Board member of Serco Group plc.
Grant has extensive experience and knowledge of partnering and delivering outsourced services within the UK and internationally to both public and private sector clients.
Mouchel has also announced that Bo Lerenius, Executive Chairman of Mouchel, will stand down from the Board and from his role as Executive Chairman. Bo's resignation follows his appointment of the new Chief Executive. David Sugden, non-executive director of Mouchel, will take over as interim Chairman.
David Sugden joined the Board of Mouchel in January of this year as a non-executive director as part of the process of strengthening the Mouchel Board. David has over 30 years' experience of public company life. He stepped in as Executive Chairman of Findel plc, the leading UK home shopping company, to lead the refinancing and turnaround there following a major breach of banking covenants.
Mr Rumbles, said: "I am delighted to become the Chief Executive of Mouchel. Prior to my appointment, I have spent time with the Board discussing the business and its future prospects. I believe Mouchel has a strong customer base and dedicated talented staff. Despite recent reductions in UK government spending, the future of government outsourcing both in the UK and overseas is assured and will continue to grow. Mouchel has the expertise and ability to deliver sustainable long term growth in both the public and private sector."
