Resin Bonded Pathways Helps Keep Park Users Fit

Boston Manor Park in Brentford Middlesex is a large historic park surrounding Boston Manor House which was built in 1623; today the park helps promote a healthy lifestyle to local residents by providing facilities for physical activities for all ages.

The park contains tennis courts, a football pitch, a putting green, children's adventure play area, teenage multi-use games area, and paths suitable for walking/jogging.

Specialist contractors Oakleigh Manor recently surfaced a new pathway in the park which is situated under the shadow of an elevated section of the M4, close to the GlaxoSmithKline UK headquarters. The work was carried out by Oakleigh Manor on behalf of Eurovia Ringway Group and Hounslow Borough Council.

Oakleigh Manor applied RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing to provide a hard wearing, slip-resistant and easily maintained finish to the paving, making it suitable for walkers and joggers. A pavement finished with RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing makes life much easier for people pushing prams or using wheelchairs than loose gravel surfaces without compromising the appearance. Rounded Sepia gravel was selected to blend with the surroundings and provide slip-resistance.

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing is normally laid on concrete or asphalt and less frequently on steel or timber decks. The two component resin is mixed with a drill and paddle mixer and applied by roller or squeegee to the substrate. The aggregate is immediately cast into the resin and left to cure for four hours. After removal of loose aggregate, the paving is ready for immediate use.

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing is a slip-resistant, durable, fast curing surfacing available in a variety of aggregate finishes. It has been successfully used for paving applications of many kinds including the walkways from car park to the terminal at Stansted Airport, highways, concourses, footbridges, pathways, driveways, car parks, balconies and terraces, boardwalks, jetties, ramps and steps.
