Mansell has won a £2.6 million affordable housing project in Isleworth for Isleworth and Hounslow Charity Ltd.
Tolson House will be a modern affordable housing facility for people over the age of 55, spanning three floors. It will have 20 spacious flats, including two fully wheelchair accessible flats and a communal lounge.
Environmental considerations will play an important role in the project; a large proportion of the roof will comprise photovoltaic cells generating renewable energy. In the landscaped area a 2,000 litre harvester tank will re-use rainwater to irrigate the gardens.
The project is part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and has the support of the local council, Hounslow.
The project has recently started on site and is due to complete in March 2012.
