Mansell has completed a £22.5 million project to construct seven multi-storey student accommodation blocks at Mansfield Hall in Reading for Unite Integrated Solutions (UIS).

The development comprises part traditional and part modular build of 604 bedrooms, 132 kitchens and 36 stair modules. A central reception and common room have also been constructed.

In a project exceeding 200,000 man hours, a well managed lead in period helped the team achieve early completion as it allowed for involvement of the design team, customer and key subcontractors. The team also reduced the implications of the problematic cold weather by enclosing the largest building in mono-flex and heated the enclosure with temporary heaters.

Mansell's Regional Managing Director, Andy Duff, said: "Working with Unite Integrated Solutions has proven to be a very successful partnership that has enabled us to deliver a very high quality, well-designed community on time where students want to live. This development raises the bar again for university accommodation in Reading."
