Wonderwood Boost To Flooring Range

A Berkshire-based firm, Future Floors - the parent company of Wonderwood - has announced the addition of a new product to its range.

Wonderwood, in Earley, near Reading, has recently gone into partnership with the American manufacturer of one of the finest ecological sports floorings in the world with Wonderwood having just become the sole UK distributor for Smith & Fong sports floors.

These floors have proven both very popular and successful in the United States where they have been laid in at least 35 states and other territories and have already gained a great reputation…all in less than five years of trading.

A company spokesman said: "This exciting new bamboo product is a real alternative to the traditional beech and maple sports floors.

"It is offering numerous benefits, such as a cleaner and more uniformed look, eight different undercarriage systems, ensuring every build option is covered and a more environmentally friendly option using only rapidly renewable bamboo that fully matures every five years."

It also features recycled rubber for the undercarriage systems and the floors are 25% harder than maple and also 50% more stable than beech.

They conform fully to BS-EN 14904 on every system - which is independently tested by ISSS recognised laboratory - and is fully endorsed by the UKGBC and also assists in achieving green building credentials such as BREEAM/LEED/CARB and all products are Certified FSC PURE and 100% VOC and Formaldehyde free.

Meanwhile, as part of the overall expansion, Wonderwood is currently looking for architects/designers/builders operating in the sports or education market to partner with.
