Mansell has secured a £1.7 million contract to build the only training college in the country to specialise in furniture training for WEBS Training Ltd.

WEBS Training Ltd is a national provider of quality apprentice and adult training for the furniture and associated industries.

After demolishing the existing extension to the original late Victorian building, a modern two-storey extension will be constructed, forming a new reception area, staff room, offices, canteen and male/female changing rooms together with teaching and conference facilities on the first floor. Additionally the Victorian mill will be refurbished to create comprehensive workshop space and IT facilities.


This resource will offer state-of-the-art IT design and machining facilities along with high specification workshops and a conference suite with 3D projection.

The specialist training centre offers government sponsored City & Guilds approved apprenticeship training in a variety of trades such as cabinet making, frame making, upholstery, cutting and sewing, wood machining, polishing and kitchen installation. The new extension will provide young people and adults with the chance to gain valuable work experience with local businesses and develop vital skills for employment in the future.

The project has recently started on site and will complete in March 2012.
