CIH Deputy Chief Executive To Stand Down

The Chartered Institute of Housing's (CIH) Deputy Chief Executive, Richard Capie, will be moving with his family back to New Zealand and has resigned from his post.

His role as Deputy Chief Executive will be filled on an interim basis by Grainia Long, CIH's current Director of Strategy and Northern Ireland.

Sarah Webb, CIH Chief Executive, said: 'Of course we'll miss Richard terribly. He has led our influencing work extremely successfully over the last few years and is a key reason why CIH is recognised as being so credible and such an effective thought leadership organisation. His reasons for returning to New Zealand are wholly personally and the whole of CIH wishes him all the best."

Mr Capie said: "It is with real sadness that I'm going to be leaving CIH, it's an organisation that I feel passionate about, and one that I firmly believe has provided some important leadership in the housing sector during a time of rapid and significant change. In Sarah the sector has an inspirational champion and the changes that she has made in the past four years will ensure that CIH continues to push both individuals and businesses to be better into the future. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside her and the rest of the CIH team and I know I leave the organisation well positioned to continue in its incredibly important work."
