Speedy Hire Announces Appointment Of Non-Executive Director

Speedy Hire has announced the appointment of Dr Chris Masters to the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 13 July 2011.

Chris has 20 years of experience as an executive Board member of listed companies. He was Executive Chairman of Aggreko Plc (1997-2002). Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles at Christian Salvesen Plc (1979-1997), including Managing Director, Industrial Services Division and at the time of leaving he held the role of Chief Executive. Chris started his career at Shell (1971-1979) where he gained an international reputation in the field of homogeneous catalysis.

Chris currently holds Non-Executive Directorships at Crown Agents, Alliance Trust Plc and Wood Group Plc. In the past five years, he has also held the positions of Non-Executive Chairman at Sagentia Group Plc (2006-2010) and SMG Plc (2004-2007).

Chris will replace Peter Atkinson, who will retire from the position of Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 13 July 2011.

Commenting on the new appointment, Ishbel Macpherson, Chairman, said: "On behalf of the Company, I am delighted to welcome Chris to the Board. His extensive experience, in equipment hire and logistics in particular, will be most valuable and we look forward to his contribution."
