Creative Woodwork Turns Shavings Into Savings

Creative Woodwork have invested in a state of the art waste reduction and heating system for their workshop at Colville Road, London.

The new system works by shredding left over MDF and wood products, compressing the shreds into briquettes and then burning the briquettes to heat the workshop.

As well as environmental advantages such as waste and fossil-fuel reduction, the new system allows cost savings to be passed directly onto customers.

Founder and Director of Creative Woodwork said: "Our customers are at the heart of our business and feedback has been very positive. Environmental issues are important to us and our customers. We are delighted that we can now heat the workshop using our own recycled waste in a sustainable manner. The added benefit is that cost savings due improved waste and heat management have resulted in reduced costs for our customers."

The new system was installed in April this year and has already allowed Creative Woodwork to reduce their landfill waste by 99.9%. The company has decreased its landfill rubbish from 3300L per week to an astounding 0.6L per week. The recycled waste used to heat the workshop means that the company no longer has to rely on traditional gas methods for heating, thus greatly reducing the company's carbon footprint.
