Mansell has secured a major contract to build a Renewable Energy Engineering Centre in Didsbury, Manchester for Siemens plc.
The two-storey design and build project will comprise two laboratory areas and an office area to accommodate members of engineering staff. The primary purpose of the building is to establish a test and simulation centre for High Voltage DC Interconnectors required to connect offshore wind power generation to the mainland.
The centre will serve as a catalyst for the renewable technology development in the region and will create a flagship for sustainable technology in the Manchester and North West region.
Work is due to start on site this month and complete in March 2012.
