Mansell's North West team has handed over Royton Health and Wellbeing Centre on programme and on budget.
The £9.1 million development, procured through the NHS Oldham LIFT scheme, replaced and enhanced the current outdated estate, providing a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary health facility.
Billed as a one-stop-shop, users can address a number of health issues under one roof, as the centre has multiple doctors’ surgeries, a Dentistry and community services area.
Incorporating a combined heat and power bio fuel system, rain water harvesting and rainwater attenuation, along with Glu-lam curtain walling and beams, the centre attained the environmental target of a BREEAM Healthcare "Excellent" rating.
The project also reached 'Performance Beyond Compliance', an exemplary level of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
This requires a site to score at least four points in the eight sections of the Site Code of Considerate Practice, which includes marks for consideration, environment and accountability.
