MP for Wyre Forest, Mark Garnier, attended a ground-breaking ceremony at the former school site at Wribbenhall, Bewdley to celebrate the start of construction on 46 new affordable homes.

The £4.5m development of two, three and four-bedroom homes for rent and sale is being built by Kier Partnership Homes for client Wyre Forest Community Housing (part of The Community Housing Group), which received a grant of £2.4m from The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The energy-efficient new homes will be built to Lifetime standards and meet all the requirements of modern family living. Of the 46 homes, 35 will be for rent and 11 for shared ownership, aimed at helping first-time buyers on lower incomes to move into home ownership.

Kier Partnership Homes' Managing Director, Chris King, commented: "This is a very exciting day for all the stakeholders in this development who have worked so hard to make it a reality.
