Dugouts Score At Arabian Gulf Cup

Make Me Dugouts were set a challenge to manufacture bespoke dugouts for export to Yemen and have them ready in just two weeks.

The sports dugouts were for use in a football tournament to be hosted by Yemen in November 2010. The tournament is called the Arabian Gulf Cup and this was to be the first time Yemen were to host the tournament so it was critical for the sports ground contractors at the stadiums to be prepared and be ready for the opening set of football games.

We utilised our standard curved frame sections to create freestanding curved dugouts which are also known as team shelters. The dugouts had our standard moulded seats supplied in blue, part of a range of coloured seating that we offer on all our sports dug out designs.

The order was completed on time and we had the football dugouts ready for despatch but were then faced with the news that there had been a security threat and all aircrafts were embargoed. Now...whilst we will try to do everything in our power to get customers orders to them on time, this was an issue which was beyond our control and made the volcanic ash cloud delays for the South African World Cup dugouts seem fairly straight forward!

After conversations with the Foreign Embassy, our customer in Yemen and our Logistics company, the issues were finally resolved and as a one-off shipment we could get the order through but with additional security checks for the football dugouts in Dubai.

Another success story for Make Me Dugouts and yet another happy dugout customer....see details on www.mm-dugouts.co.uk
