GB Building Solutions has won a £16.9 million contract to build a new care home in West Byfleet, Surrey.
The contract awarded by Anchor, will provide a 117 bedroom sustainable community. The development, known as West Hall, will comprise of three cluster buildings set in exclusive landscaped gardens and containing individual bedroom suites and shared living / dining space. The communal areas in each cluster will help foster a real community feel. An existing building on the site will be converted to create a central ‘Heart’ facility to provide reception, dining room and hair salon.
Rated BREEAM ‘Very Good’ the development will minimise the impact on the environment by installing several sustainable features including ground source heat pumps, photovoltaic cells and sedam roofing.
GB Building Solutions is one of the leading healthcare developer contractors in the Country, having delivered over £250 million of work in this sector in the last 5 years.

The work started on site at the beginning of January and is expected to take 68 weeks.
