Derbyshire County Council has announced funding totalling over £375,000 to allow work to go ahead to build ten children's play areas across the county.
Thirteen new play sites have already been opened in Derbyshire under the Playbuilder initiative.
Ten other sites were planned for construction but work was suspended when the Government announced changes to the way the scheme was funded.
Now, Derbyshire County Council has announced a £376,889 funding package
to allow the remaining ten sites to be built.
Councillor Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Young People, announced the funding at a meeting of the authority’s cabinet today.
Councillor Lewis said: "We're delighted to make this announcement which means that children in every district of Derbyshire will have benefited from Playbuilder.
"We're committed to providing the county's children with a healthy and active start in life and playgrounds can be enjoyed by children, their families and carers."
The ten new playgrounds which will now go ahead are in: Pinxton, Shirebrook, Chesterfield, Shipley Country Park, Wirksworth, Borrowash, Long Eaton, Glossop, North Wingfield and Swadlincote.
Schemes have already been completed in Heanor, Ripley, Ironville, Shuttlewood, Barrow Hill and Brimington in Chesterfield, Cotmanhay, Harpur Hill, Darley Dale, Dronfield, Holmewood, Walton-on-Trent and Ashbourne.
