A Nottingham teenager is carving out a career as a carpenter with Lovell working on a major housing development in the city.
Tom Keeton, 18, is a member of the Lovell team building a £5.2 million development of 38 energy-efficient homes for open market sale for sustainable developer Blueprint.
Earlier this year, with the support of Lovell, Tom completed an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery. He is now continuing to build up his experience on site at The Meadows, working closely with Lovell tradespeople, in order to become fully qualified.
"I'm working alongside some very experienced people and I'm trying to learn as much as I can from them," said Tom. "I hope to gain as many qualifications as I can and would eventually like to start my own carpentry business."
Tom will continue to receive support and guidance from Lovell regional training advisor Sharon Tyer, who oversees his training. "Tom is producing work of the highest standard on site and we’re very pleased with the progress that he has made so far," said Sharon. "We are delighted to be able to give him the opportunity to develop the next stage of his career with Lovell."
