Stroma Certification's Core (Code Reporting Software) is launched for Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) Assessors, in conjunction with the Communities and Local Government (CLG) release of the revised Technical Guide 11th November 2010.

The aim of the CSH is to limit the environmental impact of new-build dwellings, by ensuring real improvements in key areas such as carbon dioxide emissions, waste, water usage and environmental impact. Core 2010, not only facilitates ease of use, but also provides innovative functions, which simplify assessment, calculations, input and the report submission process.

• The ability to create dwelling templates for repeat use in subsequent dwellings

• Integrated calculation tools, such as energy and materials calculator
• Ability to add introductory assessor notes relating to the code level achieved
• Description and guidance display for credits sought, this will apply to both Design Stage and Post Construction reports
• A design team comments area

Further developments are scheduled for example; ensuring reports have a spell check function for the professional edge, a streamlined site registration within the software, a water calculation software that meets Building Regulations 2010, plus an online portal that allows clients to actively participate in including supportive document alongside visibility of progress reporting. The online portal will be fully secure with various levels of access permissions.

Stroma is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to train and certify competent person for the Code for Sustainable Homes scheme under BS EN ISO 17024:2003. CPD sessions are being held nationwide delivering demonstrations on applying the software and the key implications of the changes applied within the newly released guide.
