Milton Keynes Partnership (MKP) has selected Guinness Trust to be its investment partner to deliver affordable housing on a portfolio of sites across the city over the next three years.
Approximately 200 new homes will be created, providing much needed affordable houses for rent and low cost home ownership, of which some will be managed by Guinness Trust's managing agent, Guinness South, and the rest, owned and managed by Catalyst Housing Group. These new homes will be built on small 'infill' sites within the existing grid squares where there is currently a shortfall in affordable housing provision.
MKP and Guinness Trust will be working closely with Milton Keynes Council to ensure that the homes created are in line with the Council's housing policies and strategies.
Tim Roxburgh, Director of Milton Keynes Partnership said: "These small sites will be identified from our land ownership across the city and we will be working with Guinness Trust and the Council to ensure they are in locations where there is a real need for affordable housing.
"We hope that in addition to providing affordable housing, the creation of these homes will also help to stimulate the general housing market in the city. This is a new approach for MKP which will see us working closely with partners to address a number of key housing issues in Milton Keynes."
