The housebuilding and construction group, Galliford Try, has announced it has, in joint venture with Biwater and Mott MacDonald, been awarded the contract by Thames Water for the £60 million project to upgrade the largest wastewater treatment works in Europe at Beckton, east London.
The project will reduce odour emissions at the sewage works by around 70 per cent.
The joint venture partners have already secured £280 million worth of other work under the AMP5 framework.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try plc, commented: "We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with Thames Water by securing such an important contract."
