New Training Toolbox To Help Build Your Business

Europe's largest construction training provider, the National Construction College (NCC), is to launch a new training programme for 2011, featuring six brand new courses for businesses to bolster their bottom line in a constantly changing and fiercely competitive market.

Developed in close consultation with some of the industry’s biggest employers, the programme includes a range of management and leadership training courses for supervisors, managers and directors of companies to help them guide their businesses through these challenging times, as well as a range of new plant operations and maintenance packages to increase efficiency on the shop floor.

New courses include:
  • Strategy
  • Foundation Degree in Construction Site Management (FdSc)
  • Construction Site Supervision QCF (NVQ) Level 3
  • Construction Site Management QCF (NVQ) Level 6
  • Track and Undercarriage Inspection
  • Wastemaster Operator Training Wheeled Loading Shovel
The NCC now offers more than 200 training courses and bespoke packages across 10 different disciplines including Scaffolding and Access, Plant Operations, Health and Safety, Management and Leadership and Sustainability. In addition, a host of specialist training courses are available including drainage, paving, kerb laying, excavation support, piling, concrete practice and street works.

Some of the most popular courses include Site Management Safety Training Scheme, Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme, Scaffolding Parts 1 and 2, and S/NVQ 2 Practical Assessment - Tube and Fitting or System.

Director of the National Construction College, Andy Walder, said: "Complementing our existing portfolio of first class courses, the new programme offers a toolbox of training solutions for businesses, with a greater selection of flexible and bespoke packages to meet their individual needs. At this challenging time for the industry, it's important that firms have access to a wide range of training options to help them succeed and grow."
