North West-based Ainscough Strategic Land has submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of a 20-acre former factory in Cheshire, following 18 months of community consultation and master planning.
The scheme will see the creation of 160 new family homes, community allotments and new public spaces at the 20-acre site located on the northern edge of the village of Cuddington.
The company worked closely with Cheshire West and Chester Council to develop the brief for the former Nestle factory site, which has been vacant since 2007.
Ainscough Strategic Land, Managing Director, Nigel McGurk said: "The evolution of this planning application has been a brilliant example of real 'localism' in practice. The resulting plans will turn a longstanding eyesore into a tremendous asset for this beautiful Cheshire village.
"Crucially, at a time when the housing market makes regular headlines, we have had a fantastic response from high quality developers, all keen to invest in the successful long term future of the area."
Ainscough Strategic Land has grown rapidly since it was established in October 2007 following the sale of Ainscough Crane Hire by entrepreneur Martin Ainscough. The company has acquired ten sites across the UK including a 40-acre greenfield site in Bishop Auckland (Durham) and a 37-acre brownfield site in Leyland which has already secured permission for 471 new homes.
