Morgan Sindall has been selected by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver an £18.57 million regeneration project in Stockbridge Village, Merseyside.

The firm will build a new primary school, neighbourhood centre with leisure facilities and new retail space.

The project forms part of a £25 million regeneration scheme, developed by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council in conjunction with local residents and partners, to transform the village into a vibrant and welcoming focal point for the local community.

The project will see the creation of a new swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym and leisure facilities, learning resource centre, primary school, children's centre and family centre, multi-use games area (MUGA) and a supermarket.

The regeneration scheme will be delivered in five phases and is expected to be completed in spring 2012.
