Tesco To Breathe Fresh Air Into Decorating

Tesco is now stocking GreenSteps Natural Eco-Paint, the UK's only verified 'clean air' paint. Certified under the prestigious 'Natureplus' scheme, the paint has been independently laboratory tested for its impact on the indoor ‘room climate’ and has passed with flying colours. This means it emits no harmful chemicals and is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.

GreenSteps' Managing Director, Ben Nickell said: "Harmful chemicals from all types of ordinary paints have been found to be emitted from surfaces for years after application. Because we have achieved the Natureplus standard, consumers can be 100% confident that there will be no harmful emissions from our paint. We are delighted to be able to make GreenSteps paint accessible to everyone through Tesco. At only £17 for 2.5 litres, it is a practical and affordable alternative for those concerned about the impact of decorating on the health of their home environment."

GreenSteps Natural Eco-Paint is a solvent free, 100% VOC free paint made almost entirely from naturally derived and renewable raw materials. Because it is naturally alkaline, it requires no chemical preservatives. This makes it particularly suitable for people who suffer from allergies or other adverse effects when using ordinary wall paints. The eco-friendly paint is easy to use and is applied with a brush or a roller as with any other paint. It is non-toxic, highly durable, breathable and, because it is made from natural minerals, it is non-static and doesn’t attract dust – another advantage for those prone to allergic reactions.

GreenSteps Natural Eco-Paint is the only Natureplus certified paint available in the UK. It is available from Tesco Extra stores in a pure white and a warm, rich Magnolia; £17 for 2.5L. An interactive map showing stocking stores can be found at www.greensteps.co.uk/paint
