UNITE Chooses Mansell For £22.3m Student Accommodation Project

UNITE has awarded Mansell a £22.3 million project to construct seven multi-storey student accommodation blocks at Mansfield Hall in Reading.

The development will comprise part traditional and part modular build of 604 bedrooms, 132 kitchens and 36 stair modules. A central reception and common room will also be constructed. The project is aiming to achieve a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating.

The works also include the demolition and clearance of the existing buildings and road widening. Work has recently started on site and is anticipated to complete in July 2011.

This is the latest in a series of student accommodation developments Mansell has constructed for UNITE in a relationship dating back to 2001.
