Icynene distributors of Airseal Insulation has successfully completed the project to insulate the new 12 en-suite bed and communal area (total area 400m2) which makes up the new wing of The Manse nursing home in Lancashire.

The Owner of The Manse Les Ansell commented: "The building is holding the heat at a constant 23oC regardless of weather conditions. If the wind is blowing it has no effect on the performance and doesn’t put any extra load on the heating. The radiators were reduced in size by 40 per cent from their original design and even though they might not be on, the building is warm, draft free and comfortable for staff and the occupants."

Yet using Icynene to seal up the external timber frame envelope we now operate with a 100,000 btu boiler, similar to that in a three bed semi-detached house. The new build is 23% by volume of the new and old buildings combined, yet it accounts for only 7.3% of the total gas used."
