Energy company E.ON is calling on the community to have a further say after submitting a planning application to Daventry District Council for a wind farm between the villages of Winwick and Cold Ashby in Northamptonshire.

If granted planning permission, the 17.5 MW wind farm could generate enough energy to meet the annual electricity needs of around 7,800 average UK homes and could help displace up to 15,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year. The local community would also benefit from a £28,000 annual community benefit fund for the life of the wind farm.

Daniel Badcock, E.ON Project Developer, said: "We received valuable feedback from the community while developing our plans for Winwick wind farm and we encourage everyone to stay involved during the planning process.

"We recently organised a trip for local people to one of E.ON’s wind farms in Cambridgeshire and we’ll be holding some further public information sessions shortly. We always welcome feedback on our plans and all of our planning documents will be on display at the information days, as well as available on our website.

"We're committed to developing our wind farms in the most responsible and sustainable manner possible, and our proposed wind farm at Winwick is no exception."
