Lovell is set to build a £1.5 million affordable homes scheme in South Oxhey, near Watford, for leading UK housing provider Sanctuary Group.
The scheme will see the creation of twelve flats and two bungalows for affordable rent as part of the redevelopment of a site at Clitheroe Gardens, currently occupied by an existing sheltered housing scheme, the Clitheroe Club community centre and Carpenders Park and South Oxhey Methodist Church.
Through its national framework agreement with Sanctuary, Lovell has been chosen to carry out the first phase of the redevelopment. The second phase will see the creation of eight flats, a new community centre and church while the third stage of the redevelopment will involve the construction of 23 flats.
Lovell is set to complete the 14-home first phase of the redevelopment in spring 2011. The new homes will meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, the system for assessing the environmental performance of new housing.
