Ivan Steyert Nominated Chairman Of Socomec

Ivan Steyert, great-grandson of the company founder, was unanimously voted Chairman of Socomec (industrial switchgear and UPS) by the Shareholder Board of Directors on Tuesday 23rd March. He therefore succeeds his father, Bernard Steyert who has transformed the family company with its headquarters in Alsace into an international group employing 2500 people. Bernard Steyert will remain chairman of the holding company.

Ivan Steyert, 44, is a graduate of the Institute of Economic Science and Management in Lille, and began his career in the banking sector before joining the family-owned company in 1995. Starting out as project manager, he then became Director of the IT Department that he has since standardized on a global scale.

Ivan Steyert was voted onto the Socomec Shareholder Board in 2005.

In his new post Ivan Steyert will be supported by Michael Carter, CEO who leads the management team.

He intends to be a "hands-on" chairman through active involvement in operational missions. Already in his first message to company staff, Ivan Steyert has given his vision for the company he now heads as chairman:
