Civil Engineering and construction group Alpha Corporation has announced that David Oates has joined the Company as Vice President, International.
From its new international headquarters in Oxford, United Kingdom, he will drive growth for Alpha's program, construction management and engineering services in Europe and the Middle East.
A seasoned executive with over 25 years experience in the technology and business solutions industries, Oates plans to replicate the success of Alpha Corporation in the American civil engineering, construction and energy sectors.
Before joining Alpha Corporation, David represented TOWER software as VP of Europe, the Middle East and Africa where he oversaw its successful acquisition by Hewlett Packard. Prior to this, he held a number of senior positions, most notably as the CEO of The Distillery, an Australian intelligence software company, and as VP International Operations for Primavera Systems, where he was responsible for all operations outside of the Americas.
During his three year tenure at Primavera he more than doubled international revenues and was instrumental in significant growth in key regions such as Australia, China, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Western Europe.
Jeff Lindsey, CEO at Alpha Corporation said: "Projects such as the $650 million expansion and modernisation of El Nuevo Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia are just examples of a growing international client base. David’s appointment marks an important landmark in the Company’s continued growth."
Oates is optimistic about the business opportunities that will arise as a result of this expansion.
"Having overseen successful expansions at a number of companies, I can see the potential for Alpha Corporation in Europe and the Middle East. Public spending in particular remains steady in many countries for example, so they are logical markets to tap into," he said.
Oates also held similar positions at Xchanging-PLC; a major business process outsourcer and Moai Technologies; a San Francisco based Software Company where he founded the EMEA operation. He also holds a non-executive board position with The Andrielle Foundation, a charitable organisation aimed at supporting lone parent families in the UK.
Alpha Corporation is a full-service consulting firm offering a wide array of program/construction management and engineering services to a broad spectrum of clients, including government agencies, municipalities, institutions, private enterprises, developers and contractors.
