E.ON has submitted a planning application to Daventry District Council to build a new wind farm in Kelmarsh.
If granted planning consent, the seven turbine Kelmarsh wind farm could produce up to 17.5MW of power, enough to meet the annual electricity needs of 7,828 households and displace over 15,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.
Daniel Badcock, E.ON Project Developer, said: "Before submitting these plans we've made sure that we've carried out all necessary studies and worked with local stakeholders to ensure that we've taken into all possible factors.
"We firmly believe that this is not only a great place for a wind farm but also that our application reflects that and the work that we've carried out."
A decision on the planning application is expected later this year.
