Work has been completed on a new entrance to Scraptoft Valley Primary School.
The existing entrance had not been changed since it was originally built over 50 years ago. Built during the summer of 2009 by Phillip James, the new entrance now allows easy disabled access for all wheelchair users and pushchairs.
Head Teacher Barbara Kent said: "We now have a safe and welcoming area for visitors and parents to use that is separate from our school foyer, ensuring the safety of our children at all times.
"The new entrance is a large space designed to create a comfortable waiting area with useful and relevant information displayed. The new office area that was also created as part of the building project has provided open and spacious working conditions for our three office staff."
