Toolbox the UK's fastest growing online tool retailer has today released a winter revamp of its website and taxonomy.
Toolbox has announced the launch of its revamped website. Whilst changes may first appear to be small, it has taken a lot of thought and hard work to create a more user friendly website.
The Toolbox team have created new menu structures and group listings across the website, so to be even more customer focused and give its shoppers the best experience possible. Not only are products now even easier to locate, Toolbox have increased the size of the images on the listings pages dramatically, so as to reduce the time it takes for the customer to find what they are looking for.
Scott Morris, E-Commerce Manager of Toolbox said: "The website revamp has been a well thought out operation, we have looked at every detail through the customers eyes in an attempt to make it as friendly as possible. This has in many occasions meant a complete re-write of the taxonomy, which has not been an easy process with over 20,000 products on the website. A main addition to the menus has been a welcomed Hand Tools by Application section, which enables customers to focus their search around the job they are intending to carry out. For example a Decorating Tools group, giving the customer every possible tool they would not need to get the job done, from rollers, to wall paper strippers!"
There are many more changes in the pipeline for the Toolbox website but nothing has been leaked to us at this point, it is all top secret stuff. But since the first draft of this press release we can already see the Gardening Equipment section has emerged.
Lee Taylor, General Manager of Toolbox said: "We have thousands of products on our website and the aim of this exercise was to get our prospective customers to the products they are looking for as quickly as possible. A whole new taxonomy has been implemented and everything has been taken into consideration from demolition to engineering tools. Whilst doing all this we have continued to increase sales in a few key areas for this time of the year, Leaf Vacuums and Blowers, and Garden Shredders to name a few."
It is clear that the Toolbox website is now gearing up for the Christmas rush as well, with the introduction of the Christmas Deals banner, offering only limited deals available over the festive period. Also a Christmas Gift Ideas section, which has been created using 5 different price points, meaning shopping for tools this Christmas on a budget isn’t as hard as it used to be.
Toolbox is based in Evesham, Worcestershire and now employs 50 staff within their 2,000 sqm, purpose built warehouse and offices. The sister company Plumbworld had a turnover in 2008 in excess of £18 Million. Plumbworld was established in 1999 and was sold to The Grafton Group Plc in December 2006.
