John Sisk & Son Ltd (Sisk) has won the contract to construct a mixed use scheme including a 115 bedroom Travelodge and retail outlets in Lancaster.
Chris Dyer, Director North West Region, Sisk, commented: "Sisk has now completed a number of Travelodge builds across the UK, which demonstrates our capability as not just a national contractor but one that can deliver time and time again for the hotel industry."
The building occupies a full footprint site, surrounded by major roads and shops. The façade will be clad in traditional Lancaster stone to blend in with the local surroundings.
The build will take a total of 56 weeks and construction is due for completion in November 2010.
Over the past 5 years, Sisk has built in excess of 1,200 rooms for Travelodge and in excess of 5,000 hotel rooms in the UK.
