Carpentry apprentice Dalton Hallal from Blacon, Chester, has been named by Lovell as the company's North West Personal Achiever of the Year.

The 19-year-old is part of the Lovell team building the Chester Point housing development in Blacon for Chester & District Housing Trust. Lovell recently finished building the first phase of the new Chester Point housing which saw the completion of more than 50 homes. The overall development will create 156 homes for sale, shared ownership and for rent at Blacon.

"The award recognises the tremendous progress that Dalton has made and the care and attention with which he always approaches all aspects of his work," said Lovell Regional Director Nigel Yates. "He is an outstanding apprentice."

The teenager, who will receive an engraved glass trophy and certificate to mark his achievement, joined Lovell in March 2008 after studying for a construction qualification at West Cheshire College. With the support of Lovell, Dalton has attended West Cheshire College on a day-release basis, gaining his NVQ Level 2 qualification in carpentry and joinery. His work on site at Chester Point has played a key role in helping him gain the NVQ qualification.
