Szerelmey Restoration Limited, the specialist in restoration and conservation of buildings has completed the cleaning and restoration of seven buildings including two Victorian warehouses in a 150 million mixed use urban regeneration scheme that has transformed the docklands of Gloucester Quays.

Szerelmey in a contract worth £2.5m cleaned and restored the external fabric on the two large brick-built Victorian warehouses. The existing brickwork was completely re-pointed, and new large arched windows have been installed.

Szerelmey has worked closely with the Dyer Group, the architects on the project to produce a range of special bricks in an effort to best match the existing work.

Close by is the Pillar and Lucy building originally built to store timber though more recently it has served as a pub and restaurant. Internally, Szerelmey grit blasted the brickwork and the original cast iron support columns. While on the outside, replacement of the natural stone stringcourse and minor repairs have been undertaken to the brickwork and pointing.

The overall scheme includes retail outlets and offices alongside restaurants and bars.
