Plumbworld the UK's largest online bathroom retailer has recruited Mark Canfield as their new Commercial Manager.
Mark has worked in the retail sector for over 30 years and has a wealth of product knowledge and experience.
Mark has a huge amount of experience in the retail sector most recently working as General Manager for Wolseley Ltd, where he was head of range development, responsible for developing a national range of products for all the branches.
James Hickman, Managing Director of Plumbworld Said: "We are very pleased to have someone with Mark's skills and track record joining the Plumbworld team. His main focus will be to increase the Plumbworld product range and improve the quality of the products, whilst also trying to reduce costs by developing the best ‘cost and route to market’, by no means an easy task!"
Mark has previously worked for top companies such as B&Q, Great Mills, Focus DIY and Build Center, where he has succeeded in roles to improve product ranges, improve sales and increase margin through product sourcing and development. Mark has spent a great deal of time in the bathrooms and bathroom accessories sector and has an excellent insight into how to increase quality of products whilst keeping costs to a minimum.
Mark said: "The internet is clearly the future of retail. You only have to look the record breaking level of spends from households and the fact that online advertising has become bigger than press advertising to realise it is happening here and now. Plumbworld is an incredibly dynamic and market focused business. New products are launched in an instant and it will be my job to research and identify new suppliers to ensure that I provide the highest quality products for the lowest possible prices! I will be keeping a close eye on competitor activity, market trends and consumer demand to ensure we have the product our customers want!"
Plumbworld sell a wide range of products from complete bathroom suites, showers and shower-enclosures to individual toilets, washbasins and kitchen sinks.
Plumbworld is based in Evesham, Worcestershire and now employs 50 staff within their 2,000 sqm, purpose built warehouse and offices. The company had a turnover in 2008 in excess of £18 Million from the sale of bathroom suites, showers and plumbing supplies. Plumbworld was established in 1999 by James and Anita Hickman who sold the business to The Grafton Group Plc in December 2006.
