Children are settling down to lessons in new classrooms after an £840,000 teaching extension was officially opened.
Derbyshire County Council has carried out the building work at Risley Lower Grammar CE Primary School at Risley.
The three classroom extension replaces temporary buildings which housed teaching space and a support office.
It also includes a disabled access toilet, storage area and a room to be used for special educational needs support.
Councillor Mike Longden, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Education, joined staff and pupils at the school to officially open the new extension.
Councillor Longden said: "We're committed to giving all children in Derbyshire the best start in life - and the best school accommodation to help them in their studies.
"This is a fantastic new teaching block which will benefit both staff and students."
