E.ON, one of the UK's leading energy companies, is guaranteeing that customers who take a new product launched today will have the cheapest gas bills this winter.

The new product, called WinterGas, would save an average customer £77 a year compared to the average UK standard gas bill and guarantees customers will have the cheapest gas bills until 31 March 2010.

Jim Macdonald, Commercial Director of E.ON's Retail Business, said: "At a time when money is tight for many of our customers and when we're already beginning to see the nights getting colder, WinterGas is reassuring news for bill payers.

"Most people use over two thirds of their gas in the winter so we're delighted to be able to offer the cheapest gas bills on the market."
