Work Begins On Basildon Flats

Lovell is starting work on a new £6 million development of 61 flats in Basildon, Essex.

The scheme will create 49 homes for rent for housing group Family Mosaic, including homes for key workers, and 12 homes for open market sale.

The first residents are set to move in during March 2009 with the overall scheme due to be completed in July 2009. The new housing development is going ahead with funding from the Housing Corporation.

The new flats are being built on the former site of the George Hurd Centre, a day centre for senior citizens, in Fauners, Basildon.

The day centre itself has relocated to a new home, which has been built by Lovell for Basildon District Council, in Audley Way, Basildon.
